Sabrina Jo Atto was introduced to yoga in 2000, by her mother, to help ease anxiety and stress. Sabrina weaved yoga in and out of her life for years before making it a committed part of her wellness routine. “It wasn’t until I found a practice that resonated with me mind, body and spirit that I committed to making yoga a part of my life. When I did, I began to notice how yoga was influencing all areas of my life. I began to carry the practice outside of the yoga room and into my daily living.” Yoga offered me an opportunity to heal anxiety naturally.
Sabrina received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with Karma Yoga in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Since finishing her initial Yoga Teacher Training she has completed further training, including Mindful Yoga Therapy with Susan Manafort, Yoga as Therapy with Doug Keller and a 200 Hour Anusara Elements Training with Open to Life Yoga in Maui, Hawaii.
In 2013, Freebird LLC was established, a wellness coaching practice where Sabrina would begin working with clients who where seeking a holistic or integrative approach toward healing anxiety.
Her approach as a teacher and coach is to work with the student where they are at. She focuses on building foundations and to moving with gentleness along one’s journey. “Our culture would have us believe that peace comes from achieving something or eliminating something from our lives. It has us conditioned to think peace lies outside of us. But when we can begin to see things from a new perspective, truly see things new. Then we begin to understand that peace is an inherent part of who we are. We don’t need to seek it or achieve it but simply learn to be open to it.”
Teaching yoga has offered Sabrina an opportunity to share the tools and resources she has found beneficial and healing along her personal journey. "Teaching has blessed me with the opportunity to offer a place of comfort and security for those seeking healing, peace of mind, and self-care."
Sabrina's mission as a teacher is to serve those seeking a holistic or integrative approach toward healing anxiety, and guiding them toward the opportunity to open to peace.
